St.Leonards-on-Sea forms the western side of the borough of Hastings in East Sussex. It was established as a spa town in the early 19th century, planned by James Burton and then his son, Decimus Burton.
Hastings Pier was refurbished after being burned by vandals and has won a RIBA award for its architecture.
